in 2024. our estate vineyard was officially
certified organic, a recognition of nearly a
century of stewardship by the Ariotti Family in 
the Heart of Monferrato, Piedmont.

Certified organic in 2024, the estate is farmed
using traditional techniques, cover crops,
compost, and polyculture plantings that sustain
biodiversity and balance. Soils of marine fossils,
limestone, sand, and clay give the 100% Barbera
wines depth, structure, and vibrant minerality.

Naturally fermented with wild yeasts and aged
partly in neutral botti and concrete, the wine
shows bright raspberries, dried strawberries,
and crunchy black pepper, with medium-bodied,
integrated tannins. Minimal sulfites, vegan and
gluten-free, the wine is clean, expressive, and
perfect slightly chilled—especially in its generous
liter format for sharing.

Monferrato is the birthplace of Barbera,
where rolling hillside vineyards are
dedicated to this indigenous variety.
Unlike the Langhe, where Nebbiolo reigns
supreme, Monferrato reserves its finest
vineyard sites for Barbera. The region’s
perfect combination of elevation, marine
origin clay, sand, and limestone creates
the ideal home for the grape

THIS IS A GENERATIONAL FAMILY ESTATE VINEYARD, ROOTED IN 11
HECTARES IN MONFERRATO, OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED ORGANIC IN 2024,
POGGIO TERRA IS FARMED AS A COSMIC MOSAIC OF NATURE,
ROOTED IN OLD-SCHOOL VINEYARD TRADITIONS. THE ESTATE SITS
AT 1000 FT ELEVATION WITH SOUTHEAST-FACING EXPOSURE, WHERE
HILLSIDE VINES BENEFIT FROM SUNLIGHT AND COOLING BREEZES.
CHEMICALS ARE REPLACED WITH COVER CROPS, COMPOST, AND
NATURAL FARMING TECHNIQUES, ALL DONE BY HAND BY RICCARDO
ARIOTTI.

THE VINEYARDS ARE PART OF A LIVING POLYCULTURE, WHERE VINES
GROW ALONGSIDE FOREST TREES, NATURAL COVER
CROPS, SUSTAINING BIODIVERSITY AND BALANCE. THE SOILS ARE A
COMPLEX MOSAIC OF MARINE FOSSILS, LIMESTONE, SAND, AND
CLAY, GIVING THE WINES DEPTH, STRUCTURE, AND VIBRANT
MINERALITY. THE RESULT IS BARBERA THAT EXPRESSES VIBRANT
FRUIT, LIFTED ACIDITY, AND CLARITY, REFLECTING THE CAREFUL,
DAILY ATTENTION RICCARDO PUTS INTO THE VINEYARD

TRANSPARENCY IN WINEMAKING IS AT THE HEART
OF POGGIO TERRA. THIS WINE IS NATURALLY
FERMENTED USING A PIED DE CUVE OF WILD
YEASTS AND CRAFTED WITH MINIMAL
INTERVENTION. VINIFICATION FOLLOWS AN OLD
SCHOOL NATURAL WINEMAKING STYLE, WITH 30%
OF THE WINE AGED IN NEUTRAL BOTTI BARRELS
AND THE BALANCE IN CONCRETE, CREATING A
HARMONY OF SUBTLE OAK NUANCE WITH
MEDIUM-BODIED, INTEGRATED TANNIN STRUCTURE.

SULFITES ARE DELIBERATELY KEPT TO A MINIMUM,
WITH ONLY A SMALL PRE-FERMENTATION
ADDITION WELL BELOW ORGANIC LIMITS TO
PRESERVE FRESHNESS. THE WINE IS CLEAN,
VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE, UNAPOLOGETICALLY
AUTHENTIC.

BARBERA IS AN INDIGENOUS ITALIAN VARIETAL
THAT OFFERS AROMATICS OF BRIGHT
RASPBERRIES, DRIED STRAWBERRIES, AND
CRUNCHY BLACK PEPPER, WHILE THE PALATE
DELIVERS BALANCE, VIBRANCY, AND STRUCTURE.
